Followers of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) will have the chance to relive the exciting moments when the league resumes today at all the major league venues across the country.
The league was put on hold after the week 26 fixtures to allow local players selected to represent Ghana’s senior national team to participate in the just ended West African Football Tournament (WAFU), which they eventually won.
This afternoon’s matches will feature the most decisive match of the season as Aduana Stars welcome title contenders, West African Football Academy (WAFA) to their favourite Nana Agyeman Badu stadium.
Aduana Stars were held in a thrilling 3-3 draw by Accra Hearts of Oak in a week where WAFA’s encounter with Accra Great Olympics ended in stalemate in Sogakope. A win forAduana Stars will open a four- point gap against WAFA whose rise to the summit of the league will depend on beating the 2009-2010 league champions.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko will seek to end the league among the top four teams when they host beleaguered Ashantigold who are struggling to escape relegation at the Baba Yara Stadium while Wa All Stars will be on the hunt to unsettle Hearts of Oak at the Malik Jabir Stadium in Wa.
Relegation bound Bolga All Stars will be on the lookout not to lose points when they play as guest to Great Olympics who are burnt on avoiding demotion to Division One while Tema Youth will seek to boost their chances of staying in the league when they play Elmina Sharks at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra.
Ebusua Dwarfs will play Inter-Allies at the Cape Coast Stadium while former league champions, Berekum Chelsea will welcome tenth placed Bechem United at the Golden City Park in Sunyani.
