Abola Kpatashie Mantse in Ga Mashie of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Ahene Nunoo III, has assured that he will do everything possible to stem the rising rate of teenage pregnancy in Ga communities. This, he said, would be done through quality education. According to him, quality education is an important tool a community or a nation can use to develop its natural and human resources.
Nii Ahene Nunoo III, who doubles as the Chief Advisor of Ga Mantse, affirmed that the move was part of his commitment to reducing to the barest minimum teenage pregnancy in Ga communities. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Today, Nii Ahene Nunoo III indicated that the youth are partners in development. In this regard, he stressed the need for Ga chiefs to work together with the youth to ensure continuous growth and peaceful coexistence.
The Abola Kpatashie Mantse who was inducted into the Ga Traditional Council (GTC) on Monday, October 23, 2017 asserted that hooliganism and other crimes that have been associated with Ga youth were mostly perpetrated by non-Gas who found themselves living among Gas. He said the new Ga Mantse together with chiefs in the Ga State will take steps to ensure that such persons are identified and dealt with in accordance with the laws of Ghana. Speaking on the installation and induction of Dr King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II as the Ga King, Nii Ahene Nunoo III said Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II’s installation by the Principal Kingmaker of Ga Paramount Stool, Dr Nii Tetteh Kwei II, has been embraced by all and sundry.
“We the chiefs and people of Ga State strongly believe that the new Ga Mantse is the beginning of new things to come to the people of Accra,” he noted. He explained that Dr Tackie Teiko Tsuru II is the right person to lead the people of Accra. According to him, Dr King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II was installed by the legitimate Principal Kingmaker (Dsaasetse) of the Ga Paramount Stool, Dr Nii Tetteh Kwei II.
