HR Focus Confab & Awards held in Accra

HR Focus annual Conference and Awards aimed at bringing to light and rewarding excellent institutions and personalities in the country’s human resource sector has been held in Accra.

The event, which took place at the College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Banquet Hall – Statehouse, Accra, was well attended by over 400 corporate executives comprising industry players, stakeholders and students, who deliberated on issues challenging the world of work, especially in the human resource sector.

Inspired by innovation and ingenuity, the HR Focus outfit seeks to award excellence in HR practice across corporate institutions in the country.

As part of the event, institutions and schools who participated in various activities ranging from Websoft Solutions, HR Forum, Career Development Sessions and Business Challenges alongside corporate exhibitions were awarded accordingly.

In a speech by the Chief Executive of L’AINE Services, Dr Mrs Ellen Hagan, admitted how refreshing it was to see HR practitioners gather to cause a change and stir in their respective organisations.

The conference saw both local and international speakers leading to various topics such as Wealth Management, Shifting Organisational Culture, Self-Leadership, Building Employability and many more.

The HR Focus Awards 2017 crowned the conference with a grand and classy celebration at the Banquet Hall which gave 22 prestigious awards across all industries. There were also two honorary awards.

Chief Executive of DVLA, Mr. Kwesi Agyeman Busia, in an address described HR “as the transition point for vetting and screening and a most consequential pipeline for talent and skills identification and marketing.”

He challenged the award winners to see their win as a commission to work harder, and to find and groom more talents.

MTN Ghana emerged the “Overall Best Company in HR Management” with Mrs. Ama Benneh-Amponsah of MTN Ghana taking home the award for HR Practitioner of the Year.
