A team of Nigerian Journalists in Nigeria have visited the offices of Today newspaper as part of a three-day fraternity visit to Ghana.

The 25 journalists, selected from various media houses in Nigeria, comprised producers of various programmes, reporters and senior editors.

They engaged staff of Today on issues regarding the media industry in Ghana and challenges confronting private media houses.

Welcoming the visitors, Editor of Today, Dennis Ato Keelson, explained that Today, established nine years ago with a current staff strength of about fifteen (15) has not relented in its effort at playing constructive roles in the Ghanaian society.

“Since its establishment nine years ago, the paper has seen tremendous improvement, contributing to dissemination of news on a daily basis. We are also committed to our core mandate of informing, educating and entertaining our readers whom we believe are from varied backgrounds with diverse national interests,” he told the visitors.

According to him, the paper also has an avalanche of seasoned writers/columnists who contribute regularly to enrich the content of the paper.

The editor pointed out that Todaygh.com is the on-line version of the newspaper which serves a worldwide platform with news at a go.

“Visitors to our website are mostly our fans on Facebook, readers of the paper, followers on Twitter and persons following a particular trending Hashtag on Twitter who are not necessarily followers,” he explained.

Spokesperson of the group Daniel C. Obi, who is the Marketing and Brands Editor BUSINESSDAY, expressed their gratitude to the management of Today, adding that the trip has given them the opportunity to learn more about the social life of Ghanaians, especially with regard to the Ghanaian media.

The group later visited other media houses.

The trip was sponsored by FirstBank, Nigeria.
