Coalition of Unposted Veterinary Technicians (CUVT) has threatened to picket at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) for the second time in the year to demand for their postings.

Members of the group, numbering over 579, said their last picketing at MoFA did not yield any positive results.

Spokesperson for the group, Mr. Daniel Amoako, disclosed to our affiliate station, Amansan Television (ATV), in an interview that members of the group will soon picket at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to demand a quicker facilitation of the postings.

“We are few but the only highly trained Professional Veterinary Technical Officers in Ghana. If we are not there Ghanaians may eat contaminated meat which may lead to many diseases,” Mr. Amoako opined.

At a press conference held in Sunyani, the group stated that “going back to the ministry will be necessary since authorities have not communicated to us after the first picketing embarked on two months ago.”

Mr. Amoako revealed that from MoFA, they will proceed to the Ministry of Finance and later continue to the Flagstaff House.

He said that the group would continue to picket until “we see that all the bureaucracies, processes, steps and paper works are through for us to be posted so as to safeguard the Ghanaian public health.

“It is our hope that authorities will resolve our legitimate concerns shared by fellow Ghanaians.”
