Winner of MTN Hitmaker Season 6, Freda Rhymz, received a rousing welcome after she arrived in Sunyani on Friday, November 10, 2017.
The 23-year-old rapper who made history for being the first female to win the MTN sponsored reality show was received by the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Lawyer Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, Omanhene of Sunyani, Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II, Queenmother of Sunyani, Nana Yaa Nyamaa II, Kontihene, Nana Bofotia Boaponsem II and other important personalities.
The colourful ceremony, which was spearheaded by Suncity Radio created a scene for the people of Sunyani to welcome their heroine.
Speaking with Mr. Shatar Rashid on Suncity FM’s Highway Drive 971, Freda was thankful for the support that the people of Brong Ahafo Region threw behind her.
In a congratulatory message, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Lawyer Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, tasked Freda to work harder.
For his part, Omanhene of Sunyani, Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II, was joyful that Freda did not hide where she comes from, stressing that she has put Sunyani and Brong Ahafo on the map—and that the doors of Nananom were always opened for her whenever she needed their support.
Freda Rhymz, known in private life as Freda Baffour Awuah, stole the bragging right as winner for the MTN Hitmaker Season 6 few weeks ago after she beat Drew, Yaw Berk and Xali.
She grabbed Gh¢100,000 recording deal and a music video management worth $5000.
