IT is yet another important milestone in the history of Today newspaper. The paper is going to be re-launched today, Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra to unveil its new face.
ESTABLISHED on April 8th, 2008 with a broader national outlook, Today newspaper has indeed stood the times.
We first began as an eight (8)-page weekly, then moved on to daily sixteen (16)-page tri-weekly and now a twenty-four (24)-page daily newspaper with our Friday paper serving as our weekend edition.
WITH a vision of being Truthful and enlightening our readers with the kind of stories, features, opinions and other information we put out, Today newspaper could easily be said to be one of the three leading and credible newspapers in the country. It is obvious that such envious credibility is what has endeared the paper to many to accept our placing on the media landscape.
TO the extent that today, almost every FM and TV stations in the country review our leading stories and even some commentaries in our paper during their morning newspaper review programmes. Some even have not shied away from using our credible human and developmental stories on their afternoon political talk-show programmes. Similarly, some news portals have also done same.
AS part of our agenda-setting role in the development process of our country, the paper in 2014 instituted what has now become known as the Today Lectures.
THIS is an annual event where the Editorial Team of the paper selects subjects of national significance and invites experts to deal with such issues rather dispassionately. We cannot gauge the quantum of appreciation from stakeholders in academia, industry, commerce, politics and the larger Ghanaian society on our lecture series.
IT’S been simply awesome!
WE must state that we are proud to be re-launching the paper today. Of course, it means the introduction of new and interesting things to inform, educate and excite our cherished and potential readers.
AND equally important is our weekend paper-Weekend Today– which excites and offers lighter reading for our readers.
WE want to use this opportunity to acknowledge the founder members of Today newspaper and all those who have contributed in diverse ways towards making the paper what it is today. We salute you all for your efforts.
