Tension is seriously brewing in Sapeiman near Amasaman in Accra following the decision by police officers at the Amasaman District Police Command to free a 43-year-old sand contractor, Mr Peter Klutse Kujo, who allegedly defiled a 13-year-old school girl in the area.

Aside from the alleged defilement of the 13-year-old girl by Mr Klutse Kujo, according to Chief of Sapeiman, Togbe Agah Samaglo, Mr Kujo has defiled another 14-year-old girl saying that although the parents of the victim had reported the matter to the Amasaman District Police Command, the suspect has not been arrested and prosecuted.

However, the chief and residents could not understand why the police officers of the station have granted bail to Mr Kujo to walk freely in the area in connection with the current defilement case by the suspect without the knowledge and consent of the parents of the victim who had lodged a complaint at the Amasaman District Police Command.

Speaking in an interview with Today yesterday, Chief Sapeiman Community, Togbe Agah Samaglo, who is a relative of the victim, expressed disquiet about the way and manner the police officers were handling the matter.

The chief disclosed that he went to the police station with his elders to cause the arrest of the suspect.

According to the chief, their action was to no avail and the most painful aspect of it all was that one of the 13-year-old school girls was pregnant.

The chief, therefore, called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to ensure that the suspect is arrested and prosecuted.
