Bui Power Authority (BPA) has hinted of the take-off of its Renewable Energy Project (REP) next year, to allow for some 250 megawatts of power to feed into the national grid.
According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bui Power Authority, Fred Oware, the project was on course and the installation of the switched yard to transmit power will complete preliminary preparations.
The project, he added, when completed, can power the entire Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions. Currently, the three regions require 150 megawatts of power.

At a breakfast meeting with Business Editors on Monday, December 11, 2017, Mr. Oware was optimistic that the project will improve power generation in the country when completed.

On the possible merger between the Volta River Authority (VRA) and the Bui Power Authority, he said, a committee has been tasked to look into the matter.
