Former Head Coach of Elmina Sharks, Kobina Ammisah has been re-assigned as Youth Development Officer for the club by the club’s owner, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom.
After being asked to step aside following a series of inconsistent results at the just ended Ghana Premier League, Kobina Ammisah is expected to use his vast experience to groom players to feed the senior team.
In an interaction with the officials of the club yesterday, Dr. Nduom also named former Black Stars’ striker Kim Grant who has been outside the country for a while as the Technical Director of the team ahead of the 2017/2018 Ghana Premier League season.
Head Coach Yaw Acheampong and his Assistant, Felix Aboagye, according to Dr. Nduom will continue to hold their positions in the team.
Dr Nduom also maintained Eddie Williams as the Coach of Elmina Sea Lions to challenge for the National Women’s League next season.
In an admonition to the newly appointed officials, Dr. Nduom charged the team to work hard and also make use of the enormous resources at their disposal to win laurels for the club next season.
Dr. Nduom said” the club is now in a position to compete with other clubs for trophies, and therefore” urged the newly appointed officials to make every moment of the next season count or face a possible dismissal.”
“We are looking for results and I want to say that the results apply to everybody. It is tough to find money these days , so I want you to make the little investments made in the team to bring results”, Dr. Nduom said.
He further urged every member of team to collaborate with each other to form a united front so as to to realize the vision of the teams.
“I don’t want any person to say I am doing it my way or nothing because we want to build a system, and that system is what we want to work”, he cautioned.
“We want to have an enthusiastic, aggressive and entertaining style of playing soccer but with people who are fit and so that’s why I have appointed a very formidable team to meet the expectations of the team. Our expectation is very clear and that is ending the next season in the top four and contend for the league title so I expect all and sundry to come on board for us to achieve that”, he said.
