Chief of Brekuso, Odeefo Oteng Korankye II, has appealed to the government to sustain the policy of Free SHS to rescue parents and students from financial aid that prevents them from studying.
The Odeefo Oteng Korankye Educational Fund, which is aimed at transforming education in Berekuso and its environs, supports students who will come up with good grades from the BECE exams.
And in fulfilling this promise, 11 best students from schools including Brekuso Basic School, Shalom Theocracy Complex School, Agyimenti Basic School, Adenkrebi Basic School and Fidelity Juvenile College benefited from the package.
The items donated to these students included a mattress, mop brushes and brooms, pillows, buckets, towels, school bags etc., and a cash of GHC 750 each.
Eight thousand two hundred and fifty Ghana Cedis (GHC8, 250) was the total cash donation made to the students.
Parents and beneficiaries in an interview with Today were overwhelmed by the incredible assistance by the foundation.
