Ken Yeboah, 6 others promoted

Ashanti Regional Police Commander, Ken Yeboah, together with six other Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCOP), have been promoted to the rank of Commissioners in Accra.

The promotions were done in consultation with the Council of State by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and are to take effect from July 1, 2017.

However, there will be no payment of arrears.

In a statement signed and issued on Monday, August 28, 2017 by the Director-General of Police Public Affairs, ACP David Eklu, the president, upon recommendation of the Police Council, carried out the promotion exercise which also came along with the promotion of 31 other Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) to the rank of DCOPs.

The newly promoted commissioners are: COP/Mr. Akuribah Yaagy – Director-General/National Patrols; COP/Rev. David Nenyi Ampah-Benyin – Central Regional Police Commander; COP/Mr. Charles Kpapu Torkor – Commandant at the Ghana Police Command and Staff College; COP/Mr. Maxwell Sakipasgo Atingane – Director-General/Motor Traffic & Transport; COP/Mr. Bright Oduro – Director-General/Criminal Investigations, COP/Mr. Osabarima Oware Pinkro III – Director-General/Research and Planning and COP/Mr. Isaac Ken Yeboah-Ashanti Regional Police Commander.

This brings the number of Commissioners of Police to fourteen (14).

Early this year, the police administration promoted 61 police inspectors to the rank of Chief Inspectors and 678 sergeants to the rank of Inspectors per regulations 37 of the Police Service Regulations 2012, CI 76.
