In recognition of his rapid rise in the ring, Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe has been given a new title, ‘Okofo’ by Akwamumanhene, Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III.

‘Okofo’, which translates as ‘Fighter’ is in recognition of the 23-year former Olympian’s conquest since turning professional by the Chiefs and people of Akwamu.

After visiting Ghana’s President Akufo-Addo in acknowledgement of his support in organising his IBO World Interim Bantamweight title against Mexican, Cesar Juarez, Dogboe visited the king at the Bogyawe Palace in the Eastern Region to present his title to the king, whom he described as one of his ardent supporters.

The visit also afforded the ‘Royal Storm’, who is trained by his father, Paul Dogboe the opportunity to rally support ahead of his World Title bout against Jesse Magdaleno when he finally recovers from an injury that ruled him out of a fierce encounter in Accra.

Without a defeat in 18 competitive bouts, history beckons for Isaac Dogboe as one of the youngest Ghanaian boxers to win a world title if he defeats Magdaleno in a bout which is due to take place in March, 2018.

Isaac Dogboe is also set to visit the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
