After assenting to play in play in a gala competition organised by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Elmina Sharks have jumped into full gear in preparation for the competition at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The gala, which is an invitational tournament for clubs in the Premier League and Division One Leagues, is due to commence from February 3rd to 4th, 2017 and targeted at keeping the participating teams in shape ahead of the upcoming Ghana Premier League season (GPL).
Currently, based at the Coconut Grove Beach Resort in Elmina, Central Region, the team led by Head Coach, Yaw Acheampong, and Assistant, Felix Aboagye, took the team through some vigorous drills to address their stamina level after returning from their victory against Ebusua Dwarfs in the maiden Nduom Cup tie.
While participating teams will receive 2500 USD to prepare, the winner of the competition will receive 2000 USD while runners-up will walk away with 1000 USD. semi-final teams will also receive 500 USD each.
The competition was last organised in 2000 and won by Brong-Ahafo United.
