The Last Uprising

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, (but words can never hurt me)”

In the last few days American President, Donald Trump, has succeeded in turning many nations of the world and many right thinking American citizens against him for describing Haiti and some other countries in unsavoury vulgar words.

Global response:

The response from the United Nations, African Union, our own President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and individual citizens from all over the world have ranged from rebuke to retributive caricature and personal attacks on Trump in more than equal measure. In fact he could easily enter the Guinness Book of Records as the most ridiculous and most ridiculed president in the world ever.

Trump effect:

On a more serious note, Mr. Trump’s erratic twitter handle foreign policy initiatives — the ridiculous positions, the many flip-flops, unpardonable uncouth behaviours such as his recent vulgar words are bound to have long-term damaging effect on America’s relationship with other countries. And how the “Trump Effect” affects America’s future as the world’s only standing super power, which can survive only with the cooperation of other nations, should give right thinking Americans sleepless nights.

Did Trump make the remarks to divert attention from the book “Fire and Fury” which portrays him as unfit on all fronts to be President of America and the world’s most powerful nation? Is it a red herring? If he did, then he must be a genius indeed.

Prophesy:

In January 2017, the General Overseer of the Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, was in attendance at the inauguration ceremony of President Donald Trump. I do not know why upon all the clergy in that vast country, Norway and Denmark in Europe, the celebrated full-blooded African Ghanaian Clergyman, was selected to pray. I still do not know.

Preaching the watch night service sermon on December 31, 2017, at the Prayer Cathedral, on the Spintex Road, Accra Ghana, the Archbishop issued a warning to earthly thrones, kingdoms, empires and authorities – “It is my responsibility as a student of prophecy to prepare you that this earth and this world is not going to remain the same way as it is. Changes are coming [and] there are challenging times ahead,” he said. “…. but there will be wars…… [And] we must watch North Korea,” he warned.

He went on further to say “Mr Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel comes with so many things….. I never thought that I will live to see this scripture fulfilled [and] this is where we are right now because Jerusalem requires our prayers than ever before.” Sitting there, listening to him prophesy, I did not need any interpretation.

He emphasised the transience of political power with questions on the whereabouts of the Roman Empire, the British Empire, Adolf Hitler and powerful emperors who wept because there were no more territory for them to conquer.  It left me wondering which Kingdom is next to fall – Chinese, Korean or American – I cannot tell.

Trump Insults and HIPC:

I am not bothered at all about the Trump words, as he himself personifies those words he used. For us in Africa however, I want to ride on the back of this unfortunate development to tell the World Bank and IMF that, we will no longer accept the description of our resource rich nation Ghana, as Heavily Indebted Poor Country (HIPC). Never again!

African Leaders:

But that is if, and only if, we could get the assurances from our African leaders that the resources of the continent would henceforth be harnessed for the development of its people. If our leaders get it right; I can say with certainty; no prophesy, that, Americans would queue for visas to seek refuge in Ghana and elsewhere on the African continent before the year 2050. Let us pray for Ghana and Africa, as we pray for Jerusalem. We have potential to move from third world to best. I sincerely believe it with all my heart.
