Former President, Jerry John Rawlings, has commended students of Mamfe-Akwapim Methodist Girls High School for their high performance at the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship (SAGE) World Cup in Ukraine-Odessa.

Students from the school who represented Ghana at the competition placed fifth out of the 32 participating countries.

The competition, which moulds the youth to become entrepreneurs and helps them establish great businesses, had a total of 32 countries competing.

Members of the delegation included Liza Mildred Wordzro, Belinda Addy, Eunice Agyeiwaa Hinson, Elizabeth Anning and Abena Frimpongmaa Awudzie.

The rest were Headmistress of the school, Ms. Sylvia Yirenkyi; patrons, Gladstone Nditsi Kwawukume and Catherine Bakudie, Coach Alfred Ahwireng and Josephine Dnni, a member of staff.

Former President Rawlings congratulated the students for their achievement, and called on the state and corporate Ghana to offer them the needed moral and logistical support to ensure that their “little project blooms into a great example of what young people, especially women and girls, can do to uplift themselves and society.”
