Agona West Municipal Assembly is to introduce door-to-door collection of refuse as a means of controlling indiscriminate disposal of refuse into gutters and drains.
This was disclosed by the Municipal Chief Executive in the area, Mrs. Marigold Assan, during the National Sanitation Day exercise at Agona Swedru last week Saturday.
She further revealed that the Assembly would by December pass bye-laws that will empower the Environmental Health Office to carry out house-to-house inspection to ascertain and ensure that every household has at least one toilet facility, and also give technical advice on the location of the toilet facility where necessary.
According to her, the move is to ensure that the Municipality gets rid of any outbreak possible epidemics such as cholera to maintain its status as the neatest area in the Region.
