Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) has embarked on a massive clean-up exercise to rid the metropolis of filth that has engulfed it.
According to the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Felix Annan-La, the clean-up exercise would be done in three phases in all the three constituencies that make up the Tema Metropolitan Area.
This move, he explained, formed part of the Tema Restoration Agenda, embarked on by the Assembly to rebuild the metropolis and to take it back to its former glory.
The Tema East constituency that is made up of Tema Newtown and the whole of Community One was the first place to experience the clean-up exercise.
To this end, each constituency would have its turn of the clean-up exercise.
Cleaning took place at the market area, all the sites in Community One and the whole of Tema Newtown.
The MCE also hinted that a task force who are members of the Invisible Forces had been formed to demolish unauthorised structures in Tema, especially those put on pavements.
He noted that the Restoration Agenda would not only be on cleaning, but on education, health, environment and beautifying the whole metropolis.
Mr. Annan-La, therefore, urged all residents of Tema to be part of this agenda to bring Tema back to its former glory.
