AD&TS Dolphins needed just a run more than their opponents, Nsromma Super XI, to lead the table in the ongoing Greater Accra U-19 Cricket League with 4 points.
The week two tie which was played at the Achimota Cricket Oval B on Saturday, September 16, 2017 had Nsromma scoring 78-7 after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. In the second innings however, AD&TS Dolphins scored 79-4 in 15.4 overs winning by 6 wickets with 26 balls remaining.
Dolphin’s captain, Alex Osei, after scoring 21, taking 3 catches and a wicket, was adjudged the Man of the Match. His team mate Bernard Addo scored 16 runs in the match that lasted for 2 hours.
Taysec Titans, who lost their week 1 game to Nsromma Super XI, lost out again to Kibi Leopards on Oval A. The Titans had to bat first as the Leopards won toss and elected to field. Taysec Titans scored 54-10 in 13 overs while Kibi Leopards scored 56-6 in 15.3 overs.
The Leopards therefore won the game by 4 wickets. Richmond Balari of Kibi Leopard was adjudged the Man of the Match as he scored 9 runs and took 5 wickets. Joseph Adotei scored 18 runs in that match, to help his team get their first 2 points and on 3rd position, while Taysec Titans remain bottom with no point.
There was a side attraction match which took place earlier between Nsromma Academy U-11 and Nsromma Ladies team. The 10 over match saw the boys scoring 50-2 in 6 overs, whereas the ladies scored 51-2 in 5.5 overs. The ladies won by 8 wickets.
